How do I began to thank this guy? My awesome trainer, Dee Hughley. From the first minute I encountered you, I knew you would be my trainer. When I came to you, I was recovering from a major surgery and I had a history of chronic pain (Fibromyalgia). I was scared, weak, and my balance was terrible. I couldn't even do a squat, so I thought, hehehehe Because of my training, I have gained unbelievable confidence, strength, balance, endurance and I can literally do 100 squats a day!Thanks to Dee, I have a overwhelming desire to exercise daily and I take care of ME first!!!! Fitness has become my passion and I am so grateful. I now enjoy lifting weights, strength training, squats, rowing, aerobics, Zumba and all areas of fitness. I am now doing all the things I thought I could never do. Fitness starts in your.Mind!

"Before I signed up with Darrin from Defining Heights, I knew little to nothing about fitness and nutrition. The gym and eating healthy weren’t part of my life and I never gave it much thought. Then I finally made the decision to improve both my health and my appearance. I decided my best bet was to find a personal trainer who knew their stuff so I wouldn’t waste time in the gym by myself with no clue what I was doing.
Darrin sat down with me the first initial visit and listened to my concerns, took notes on the areas that I wanted to work on the most, took measurements and assured me that together we were going to accomplish the goals that I had in mind. Within the first 30 days I was down 9 inches in my belly area, my most problematic area. I was completely shocked and also ecstatic that for the first time I was losing the weight that I had tried so hard to lose in the past but with no prevail. Needless to say, I signed up for a second month. By the end of the second month I was down another 2 inches in the belly and also 2 inches down in my thighs as well as my hips, all the while gaining muscle tone in my legs, arms, and stomach. I knew that I wanted maybe one more month just because I was enjoying all of the changes in myself physically but also mentally as well. I am now finishing up my third month as of today and I can proudly say that I have lost a grand total of 22 lbs.!!!
I can honestly say that Darrin is not only THE BEST TRAINER that I have ever worked with but he is also a trainer that takes the extra time to make sure that you have a meal plan that really works for you, ( I am a very picky eater), he would check on me and my nutrition and any concerns that I had along the way daily, and also took the time to work out a schedule with me so that I could meet him without it interfering with any of my other appointments.
My lifestyle has completely changed thanks to Darrin from Defining Heights, and I cannot see myself ever reverting back to my old habits again. If you are looking for a personal trainer I cannot recommend Darrin enough. Out of 5 stars I would give him a six!! "

Having anxiety made it hard for me to go to a gym. The online Zoom classes gave me a venue to get started with my fitness journey. It allowed me to be home and to get comfortable with him and working out. Darrin is amazing at pushing you in an encouraging way. He is full of information on fitness and nutrition and is always there to offer advise or answer questions. After two and a half months, I am down 13 pounds and am noticing differences in my body. I feel really good.

"For months I struggled with fitness. I’d start getting a routine down and I would be killing myself in the gym for months at a time and nothing would change. Once I started training with Dee he organized a nutrition and fitness plan for me. He pushed me passed my limits and motivated me daily. Random check ins held me accountable. Even on the days we didn’t train together he still needed all the details of the day and what I was eating to make sure I was on the right path to reach my goals. In just 4 short weeks I was in shock at how much my body had toned up! I lost crazy amount of inches in such a short amount of time.  My first thoughts of training were skeptical and I was not comfortable working out in a gym setting. Darrin helped me conquer that! Workouts started easy to get me familiar with correct postures and weight limits. As time went on, we stepped up the challenges more weight, reps and more activity between sets. HIIT as you will. Grossly over weight and unhealthy Defining Heights  took me in, crafted a plan and we executed it. It wasn't easy but we never gave up. There were certainly highs and lows but I am not over 80 lbs lighter. Hard work, determination faith and a coach who won't let you fail proved to be the recipe for success. I’ve been blessed to to be a part of my guy’s journey to towards the healthiest / happiest version of himself. He is the epitome of perseverance and persistence. In his own words I quote, “If my posts help to change even 1 persons outlook on changing for the better, then I’ll keep posting. I don’t do it for recognition, yes, it’s fun and amazing being on The Weight Loss Journey, but it’s even better at how amazing change feels and then to actually see it. It’s a long hard battle to get healthy and I still have a few more obstacles (knee surgery and vein removal) but I will say that I have 1 regret in life and that is not doing this sooner! My overall health especially my mental health is just off the charts good!  I completed the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage with my older son by walking more than 100 kilometers over varying terrain. To my amazement, at 65 years old and with severe hip arthritis, I found the hike relatively easy and was able to keep-up with my son who is half my age. This was only possible thanks to Darrin’s excellent coaching. His use of functional exercises to improve strength, flexibility, balance, and mobility got rid of ALL my hip pain and got me 100% ready for this trip.
